Gir National Park

HomeDestinationsGir National Park

Sasan Gir is the last remaining home of a unique predator, the Asiatic Lion, once almost extinct, and the only remaining social, big cat species of India. However, a journey into this forest will reveal so much more. There is a healthy leopard
population as well as the more elusive jungle cat, striped hyena, golden jackal, Bengal fox and the infamous honey badger. The great bird man himself, Salim Ali, also declared the park with over 300 species, wonderful for birding.

A great community interaction with the Maldharis community is also one of a kind. The tribe has been existing along with the lions in Gir. They have been there for thousands of years, and they still tend to exist. So you can easily watch stunning flora and fauna and uncommon wild animals together over the spectacular alleys of Gir National Park. Covered with grassland plateaus, hilly land, and dense forest- the Gir National Park is surely breathtaking.
