Panna National Park

HomeDestinationsPanna National Park

Panna National Park is home to five species of wild cat, including the King of the Jungle, the Bengal tiger. Winters are the best time to visit this sanctuary. However, if you want to see wildlife in action, visit this park in early summer when animals roam out in search of water. The wooded areas are a wildlife photographer’s paradise and are often dotted with mammals such as the Sambar and Chital. Flowing from the south to the north through the reserve is the River Ken. These forests, along with Ken Gharial Sanctuary, form a significant part of the catchment area of this river. The path of the meandering Ken offers some spectacular scenery.

Apart from the tiger, it is home to other animals like the leopard, nilgai, chinkara, chousingha, chital, rusty spotted cat, porcupine, and sambhar. Furthermore, gharials (longsnouted crocodiles) and muggars (marsh crocodiles) can be found in River Ken.

The large and airy guest areas boast open courtyards and a stone deck overlooking the expanse of the forest down a gentle slope.
